Summer Denim Trend – part two

If you read part 1, you’ll know that i’m talking about Denim and Chambray trends this summer. Chambray is a soft, cotton blend fabric that is casual yet looks so sophisticated. Many designers have used this softer thinner fabric for their summer collections this year to great effect. Again, i love how international trends, that we mostly see in western outfits are so amazingly translated into eastern wear and look equally stylish.

Blocked Textiles by Afsheen Numair is my all time love. Quirky prints in fun colours are the perfect combination of graphic design and fashion. I have to say am pretty envious of her in an admirable way, because she’s got it right! I love that she used the right amount of block print and did not overdue and let the charm of the fabric shine through as well. This particular piece was her more coveted design from her last exhibit and was sold it instantly i hear. Can’t wait for the next one.

Blocked Textiles – The Pocket Kurta

Another nee designer Amna Iqbal had her Pre-Eid exhibition recently and used the same fabric for her clothes. The frayed edgings and embroideries in chic cuts won my heart.

Amna Iqbal – Pre Eid Collection

Our basic shoe vendors are not far behind when it calls for keeping up with the current style.

I bought these crazyyy khussas from Red shoes; Liberty, on my recent trip to Lahore.

Plimsolls – check-ish

Denim – check

Frayed – check

Patchwork – check!!!

Talk about being ON TREND!!!

FullSizeRender (1).jpgI was terribly excited when i saw these at the small shop in the basement. Although i preferred a similar style, it was not available in my size so i opted for these crazy pieces and these looked good with the outfit i was wearing at the time.

When i brought them home is a different story. I didn’t quite like the pieces of denim hanging and M. made such a face! Ha! so i pulled them off. I like them better now!

I can’t wait to pair them with another denim piece.

Tell me guys, what should i wear them with? traditional desi or fusion; t-shirt and jeans? Also i might be doing a DIY bling them khussas up soon!

Also… Khussa Mehal is everyones must stop when they go to Lahore, but this time Red Shoes won my heart and there were many other things i was fluttering to buy but… you know the rest.

When in town, visit Red shoes!!! 🙂
